World Drowning Prevention Day is on the 25/07/21 and with the high rise in visitors to our coastlines, and the better weather coming in police will be at the RNLI slip on North Berwick beach on 25/07/21 between 10am and 2pm along with partners from Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, RNLI and HM Coastguard to offer water safety advice.There has been an increase recently with people needing rescued from the sea who have been on inflatables intended for use in swimming pools, and we would strongly advise that these are not used in the sea.Know the tide times and wind directions before entering the sea, and know how to swim out of a rip current if you end up swimming in one. ...
