The Summer Reading Challenge is for primary age children. It is to encourage children to keep reading over the summer holidays.
We ask them to read 6 books over the holidays. While doing this they collect stickers, enter prize draws and at the compeletion of reading their six books we have a party to celebrate where they are awarded a certificate. Pop into the library to sign up! It's FREE.

We also have a challenge for Teens. They just sign up, and each time they read a book they enter a free prize draw to win an Amazon voucher.
We also have a little challenge for the under 5's. They collect three stickers on each visit and receive a lovely certificate from the Reading Challenge.

We are looking for Harry Potter's biggest fan! Children just need to write down in no more than 50 words why they love Harry Potter. The entries can only be posted in the special Harry Potter Postboxes which is are in East Lothian libraries.Give it a try!

Wednesday July 4th Writer's Workshop for 8 - 10yrs, Oliver Eade author of "Moon Rabbit" will help and encourage budding writers how to put their stories and imagination on to paper. Contact the library to book a place. 01620 820680. FREE.

Thursday July 5th We have a Bookbug session for Young Mum's under 25. 10.30am. Just turn up and enjoy! It's FREE.

Tuesday July 10th 10.30am. Looking for a new job? Need help with CV's, on-line applications, searching job websites etc Come along to our 6 week course with Adult Education. It's FREE. Contact the library 01620 820680 to book a place.

Thursday July 12th. Crafts and fun with the library. "What Team are you in". Reserve a place for fun and games! £2.00 per child.

Thursday July 19th at 10.30am Riverside Revels. Stories by the river and a nature spotting walk with the Ranger. This in conjunction with the Rangers "Toon on the Tyne" Festival being held Thursday 19th to Sunday 22n July.

Our storytimes continue over the summer at 10.30am every Tuesday morning. 3- 6yrs. Just turn up! FREE.
Our Bookbug session continue too at 10.30am every Wednesday. Songs and Rhymes for your little one. Birth to 4yrs. Why not come along?

Digital Downloads: You can now download a book to your computer, i-pod and MP3. Just log on to the library website and follow the simple instructions. If you encounter problems, just contact the library on 01620 820680.
